When you build your marketing strategy, it is essential that you talk to your customers and not yourself – but what do you do when you have no one to talk to? If this is the case, you likely have a visibility problem.
This blog will help you address visibility issues in your business so that you can speak to the right audience and engage with them better!
If you are finding that you don’t have anyone to talk to, the first question would be is your business being seen? Are you showing up on social media and the right channels?
Getting exposure for your brand involves putting yourself out there because if you are not being seen by enough people, your marketing campaigns will not get the traction they need to be successful. You also need to cast a wide enough net so that you can maximize your opportunities for engagement.
In other words, you need to be seen by enough people. Sure, you can scale that through ads, but ideally, you should be doing that organically. Increasing your visibility across all stages of the buyer’s journey – or your sales funnel – is crucial.
Just like your sales funnel, your efforts should start wide and broad. From there you can narrow it down to your ideal client, but you can’t do that unless you have the top part secured. Even though that’s not the part that converts, you won’t be able to drive revenue without them!
So, if we go back to having someone to talk to about which marketing angle to take, the key is to widen your net. Opening the top of the funnel will help you meet more people, boost visibility, and strengthen your overall marketing efforts.
Although you need to spend marketing dollars on all stages of the customer journey, the lower parts of that funnel will have no effect if you don’t have a decent number of people flowing in from the top! The best way to do this is to be very visible – that means consistency, showing up over and over again, and having a presence on every platform.
Imagine you go out and introduce yourself and your business to someone, but when they go and try and find it there is nothing there. Perhaps the website is only halfway done, or the pages are empty – or maybe your Instagram only has a bio and very few posts.
How are they supposed to trust that your brand is credible and that you actually know what you’re doing? Are you really who you say you are?
That is the importance of creating visibility. It allows you to show others what you have to offer while allowing them to get to know your company on their terms. After you get leads to come through the top of the funnel, you can focus on re-engaging with them and building the relationship.
At this point, you can offer them things like samples and coupons to encourage them to make a purchase, build that credibility, and develop trust. Remember that before they can be loyal customers, they must first get to know you and like you!
